And God shall wipe away all tears from their eyes.
Revelation 21:4

She Danced
By Wanda Littles © 2008

She danced with power, resolute
She danced with courage, absolute
She danced with poise she danced adept
She danced her hurt the day he left

She danced a memory
beneath her feet
She danced his image
now incomplete

She danced the storm away
She danced the storm away

She danced to silence
dubious reasons
She danced to stop
her heart from bleeding
She danced to fears
against her will
She danced to tears
that softly spilled

She danced the storm away
She danced the storm away

She danced what mama always taught her
She danced an audience with the Father
She danced her rage into forgiveness
She danced her gloom to I-will-live-ness

She danced to shadows her daddy/her friend
She danced "Goodbye, my heart will mend"
She danced relief into her soul
She danced new life into the old

And danced her pain away

And danced her pain away

Jus' a Ol' Yard Bird
By Wanda Littles © 2008

Shoo! Shoo! You ol' yard bird
If you don't get outa' my way
I'll make you dinner this day
I'm tryin' to prune my garden and
you gittin' on my nerves

Did you jus' swalla' a bug?

Move! Gon' and move!

Aftah all you ain't nothin' but a ol' yard bird
Look atcha, runnin' over me jus' to get at a lil' ol' worm

And hush that squawkin'-it's jus' a bird

Move!

I shoulda' left ya' at the side of the road where I fount' cha!

Would you let me look at my greens?

Ooowee! You make me so mad...

Why they's beautiful...not a single hole in sight

Well Mr. Yard Bird, reckon I need
to stop treatin' you so mean
'cause my greens'd be ate clean through
if it had not been for you...

Hmmm...I know what you is

You is a yard eagle!

Praise ye him, sun and moon: praise him, all ye stars of light.
Psalm 148:3

Dazzling Praise
By Wanda Littles © 2008

against a canvas of deep indigo sky
you shimmer, you smile
you sparkle your praise to God
sending dazzling light-bursts into the heavens
you dance countless dances before the moon
showering all of creation with
your brilliance
you shine your magnum opus across the firmament
until day awakens to take up your delight
and for a span you reluctantly

disappear

I'm a Lollipop
Wanda Littles © 2005

I'm a lollipop.
I'm a lemon drop.
Grandma says I'm as sweet
as cotton candy.

I'm a cherry tomato.
I'm a sweet potato.
Grandpa says I'm as cute
as a pea in a pod.

...But

if you really want
to know who I am,

it's simple.

I'm a child of God.

God Spoke to Me This Morning
Wanda Littles © 2005

God spoke to me this morning -with His big sunrise.
What a warm smile!

He whispered in His gentle breeze.
Look at my flowers in bloom.
They're like my people-no two alike.
How they bow when they see my face.

God spoke to me this morning,
and made drops of rain fall to the ground.
The ground was so tickled by the pitter pats,
that it gave off an aroma that said God is good.

God spoke to me this morning, by a little bumblebee
who didn't wipe off all the breakfast honey
when she ate with a butterfly.
But she buzzed-buzzed-buzzed around
my head to let me know God spoke to her too.

God spoke to me this morning and He said,
"I created all these things just for you, because
I love you."

"Thanks God, I love you too."
